Mexican Hat

My flowers name is the Mexican Hat.The scientific classification is Asteraceae. The Mexican Hat grows all over Texas and all over the United States!! It blooms all summer.  (January-September) To me it looks like a sombrero.Usually it can grow to 2-3 feet. The colors are dark red and dandelion yellow. Now the scientific name is Ratibida columnaris. The average planting success is about 70%. You can use them on prairies,roadsides,waste places and slopes! For it to grow it takes 20-40 days. Temperature is very important!!! In other words, it needs to grow at a temperature of 68’F-75’F. You see, the sowing depth is 1/16″. This is truly amazing, the seeds per pound is 1,230,000!! If you want to go out and buy some,the seeds per packet is 1,075!! When you want to plant them, they cover 2,723 square feet.
